J80 Cyprus Championship

J80 Cyprus Championship is an annual series of regattas hosted by SailFirst Sailing Club at St Raphael Marina Limassol, Cyprus. Participation is open as for experienced sailors and novices as existing crews or individuals.

Terms and conditions

Racing will be held on J80 class yachts, the number of crew members from 4 up to 6 people.

Entry fee from crew: €350

Refundable deposit: €500

Entry fee includes:
Yacht charter
2 Training Days
Organization and racing fee
Yachts preparation (setting / rigging)
Technical maintenance during regatta
Refereeing on the water
Cleaning

Individual participation: €70

This includes:
2 Training Days
Yacht charter
Organization and racing fee
Refereeing on the water
Cleaning and technical maintenance

Format

The form of the regatta involves racing with the transfer. Boats will be distributed by the method of drawing lots every day before going out to the sea. (exception for crews paid in advance for whole season and sponsored yachts)
In case, if a number of crews are more than 10, will be created two groups called Alpha and Betta. Distribution by groups will be carried out when registration is over.

After 3 racing stages, the finalist who will continue racing in group GOLD will be determined. Others will continue racing in group SILVER.

The form of determining the finalists will be set out in an addendum to the racing instructions and will depend on the number of registered crews.

It is planned to hold 3 races during the winter series on windward-leeward distance 1-2 loops, 1-3 n.m and one route race 10-15 n.m (depending on number of participants and weather conditions)
The distance configuration will be in the appendix to the racing instruction.
The LOW POINT system will be used for calculating points
